I have had a 25-year career as an actor and director, where I gained expertise in physical theatre, somatic body-based practices, and movement and dance teaching and therapy. Drawing from this embodied practice, I prioritize the body as a vital tool for learning, leveraging its kinaesthetic and perceptive abilities to foster skill development, resilience, and knowledge sharing. In line with Deakin's core values of excellence, inclusivity, and ethical conduct, my aim is to cultivate a supportive and safe learning environment that empowers students to make decisions centred around their own learning and respects the diverse range of cognitive, expressive, social, and physical abilities within the student cohort.
