TEACHING EXPERTISE

I teach units on creative advertising at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include the first year unit ALA102 Creative Brand Communication, which introduces students to how creative advertising is made by practitioners and experienced by audiences. My third year unit ALA302 Transmedia Storytelling for Brands considers advertising well beyond traditional methods. The unit explores experimental and cross-platform approaches, with an emphasis on audience co-creation, that respond to emerging techniques applied by global and Australian brands.

My teaching frames advertising as a craft with a history and a future, not just a set of current techniques. My students learn through case studies of groundbreaking campaigns and diverse depictions of practice, and explore the challenges and opportunities reshaping the industry, from artificial intelligence to changing audience expectations. My goal is stewarding graduates who aren't just ready for the job but also above to reshape it, bringing more imagination, more rigour and more conscience to the industry.
