RESEARCH INTERESTS

Katie’s research focuses on understanding and improving dietary behaviours and nutrition outcomes across childhood and adolescence. Her work examines how food characteristics, such as energy density and portion size, along with food environments, parental feeding practices, food literacy and nutrition education, influence eating behaviours, dietary intake and health outcomes.

Katie has experience across a broad range of research methodologies, including systematic reviews, qualitative studies, epidemiological analyses and intervention-focused research. This methodological breadth supports a comprehensive approach to understanding the factors that influence dietary behaviours and nutrition outcomes.

Katie is passionate about advancing healthy and environmentally sustainable food choices and supporting foods systems that enable children and adolescents to lead healthy lives.
