BIO

Karen is an educator and researcher with a strong interest in work-oriented and student-centred engagements in learning. She has a particular research interest in creative nonfiction, memoir, manifestos and the personal essay, and developing storytelling skills through digital learning scenarios. She also enjoys creative projects as diverse as writing and editing of commissioned books, working with collaborative teams on creative proposals and events, and setting up regional and global networks of creative collaborators.
As a freelance writer Karen ran a creative freelance business in writing, editing and publishing for more than fifteen years. She has extensive experience in industry projects, and has produced 13 texts related to running a small business, communication and working with teams/projects. In recent times her interest has developed into creating online scenarios for higher education writing and experiential learning programs, and developing micro-publishing for emerging writers to develop publication options.
