Post-war public relations, authoritiarianism, critical public relations, PR as neoliberalism, political communication, digital culture and communication, public relations history, public interest communication, activist PR, civil activism, corporate PR, climate change communication, communicative ethics, critical discourse and cultural studies.

Current Projects
Media histories:
Kristin is currently investigating in US post-war public relations and Australia foreign policy and in a separate project, she is tracing the challenging of conventional readings of PR from the 1970s onwards and the rise of climate change denial for a new book with Routledge Research.

Kristin's work has recieved many accolades over the years. 

 

In 2013  her edited collection, with Christine Daymon, 'Gender and Public Relations, Critical Perspectives of Image, Voice, Identity', (Routledge UK)  received the American National Communication Association's (NCA) (PR Division),  Pride Award for “Outstanding book/Monograph.” 

 

In 2014 Kristin's monograph, based on her PhD, 'Public Relations, Activism, and Social Change: Speaking Up’ (Routledge Research New York) again won the National Communication Association (PR Division), Pride Award for “Outstanding book/Monograph.” 

 

Kristin's 2022 landmark panoramic critique :  'Public Relations and Neoliberalism The Language Practices of Knowledge Production' was 'Highly Recommended' by the American Library Association CHOICE.
