DrTricia Ong

Tricia has taught over 40 units at Deakin, across the School of Health and Social Development (HSD) and DeakinTALENT in the Graduate Employment Division. She has also integrated career education across all four faculties, helping students build the skills, knowledge, and experience needed for graduate employability. Drawing on her non-linear and multidisciplinary career path, including professional experience as a creative arts therapist, she brings real-world insights into the classroom.

Her teaching is informed by a strong commitment to social justice—accessibility, inclusion, equity, cultural responsiveness, and ethics—grounded in her PhD research in Nepal. She collaborates with Course Directors and Unit Chairs to embed these principles across Deakin’s curriculum, ensuring that inclusive and meaningful learning experiences are central to student development.
