TEACHING EXPERTISE
During my 35+ years in the tertiary sector, l have maintained currency of practice as a Clinical Psychologist and an endorsed clinical supervisor. This
has enabled me to enhance and contextualise the connection between theory and practice in teaching and clinical supervision. l have served as the Director of the Professional Programs in the School of Psychology, with oversight of the programs for training of psychologists as competent and ethical professionals. I have been active in the implementation and evaluation of innovative teaching practices to enhance and to assess clinical competencies and have achieved national recognition for excellence in university teaching. l lead the Deakin competency-based supervisor training program, which is endorsed by the Psychology Board to provide mandated training for psychologists wanting to become, or to subsequently retain endorsement as a Board-approved supervisor.
