RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests are broad, with a particular focus on the mental health and the social and emotional wellbeing of young people with developmental disorders, and including the development and evaluation of assessment protocols and intervention programs tailored to meet their needs. I collaborate with research teams in the School, Faculty and across the university, as well as other universities. My research has been supported by Category 1 funding, and a range of Government and philanthropic funding. My HDR students have undertaken research in clinical, forensic, and health psychology addressing a variety of issues across the lifespan. Projects have included building resilience in children in out-of-home care, identifying people with autism in the criminal justice system, enhancing mental health and wellbeing of people with intellectual disability and with autism, the development of novel programs to treat depression, drug and alcohol use in people with intellectual disability, adjustment and wellbeing in aged care, and addressing sleep problems in children with autism and ADHD.
