TEACHING EXPERTISE

Since 2015, I have enjoyed running practical classes and marking for a range of different units at the university including:
• SLE234 Microbiology
• SLE346 Molecular Basis of Disease
• SLE334 Medical Microbiology and Immunology
• HSN204 Food Safety
• SLE206 Cell Biology
• SLE254 Genetics
• SLE251 Research Methods and Data Analysis

In 2021, I was excited to have the opportunity to be unit chair for SLE234 Microbiology, where I was able give lectures, run practical classes, develop unit resources, and work with a range of staff and students across the Burwood and Waurn Ponds Deakin campuses.

Although my role is currently more research focused at this point in time, I still enjoy mentoring research students (undergraduate, master, and PhD levels) under my supervision in the lab and regularly engage with outreach teaching programs such as SLE301 Professional Practice and SLE352 Community Science Project to work with students and collaborate with colleagues.
