BIO

Associate Professor Lisa Olive is a clinical psychologist and NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow whose research aims to transform child and adolescent mental health care through the integration of evidence-based lifestyle approaches, including physical activity, nutrition and sleep. She leads a multidisciplinary research program in developmental lifestyle psychiatry spanning longitudinal cohorts, clinical trials and implementation science, with the goal of embedding lifestyle therapies into routine mental healthcare and public health systems.

 

Lisa is also a recognised leader in mental health in sport, with research focused on strengthening mental health systems and support pathways across community and elite sport. Her work has informed national policy, clinical guidelines and service development in both mental health and sport settings.

 

As lead of the Child Emotion and Everyday Environments Lab (CEEL) and the Child and Adult Lifestyle for Mental Health (CALM) stream of Mind Body Research in Health (Mirth) at Deakin University's Lifespan Institute, Lisa collaborates with leading national and international partners, including the University of Oxford, King's College London, Harvard, Orygen, University of Melbourne and the Australian National University, to develop scalable solutions that improve mental health outcomes across the lifespan.
