BIO

Dr Ruby Ma is a Lecturer in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) in Deakin Business School and PRME Co-Director (Student Engagement). Her academic practice focuses on helping students connect academic learning with meaningful and sustainable careers through authentic learning, professional identity development, and industry-engaged education.

 

Ruby specialises in Work Integrated Learning, Management education, employability development, and responsible management education. Her teaching and curriculum leadership have contributed to curriculum transformation, authentic assessment innovation, international mobility programs, and student employability initiatives across undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA programs.

 

A key focus of her work is designing learning experiences that enable students to apply disciplinary knowledge in professional and global contexts. She has contributed to major curriculum renewal initiatives, including the transformation of MWL101 Professional Insights into MPB202 Professional Identity and Career Development, assessment innovation in internship programs, and curriculum development within the MBA (Global) program. 

 

As PRME Co-Director (Student Engagement), Ruby leads initiatives that connect students with sustainability, responsible leadership, and global citizenship. Ruby co-led the co-design of the inaugural PRME Student Innovation Studio, developed in partnership with PRME (UN Global Compact) and District 3 Innovation at Concordia University, for dissemination across 850+ PRME signatories spanning over 90+ countries worldwide.

 

Ruby is passionate about student success, belonging, and career readiness, and is committed to creating inclusive learning environments that support students to thrive academically, professionally, and personally.
