TEACHING EXPERTISE
I currently lead Cross-Cultural and Indigenous Psychology (HPS209), where I coordinate curriculum design, teaching delivery, and assessment, with a focus on cultural diversity, Indigenous perspectives, and culturally responsive practice. Previously, I led Developmental Psychology (Child and Adolescent) (HPS202), contributing to unit coordination and to curriculum development focused on issues affecting the development and wellbeing of First Nations children and young people. I also teach into Forensic Psychology (HPS206), delivering lectures on both working with domestic and family violence and working with culturally diverse and First Nations communities in forensic contexts.
Alongside teaching, I also currently supervise 4 PhD candidates and 2 DPsych candidates. My supervision focuses on the prevention and recovery of domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV), and the evaluation of school- and community-based interventions for young people. To date, I have supervised 26 Honours and Graduate Diploma students to successful completion across topics related to DFSV, including psychosocial predictors and help-seeking behaviour.
