TEACHING EXPERTISE

Aligned with my academic program, I have supervised Honours, Masters by Research and PhD candidates working to advance the evidence on fairer, healthier and more sustainable food futures. I currently supervise 4 PhD projects.

I have chaired public health undergraduate and masters level nutrition units, including:

  • HSN105 Healthy and Sustainable Food Systems
  • HSN302 Population Nutrition
  • HSN738 International Nutrition

I played a leading role in developing HSN105 Healthy and Sustainable Food Systems in 2017. This unit ensures environmental sustainability is a core-compotent of the Deakin nutrition science degree. As one of Australia's first nutrition schools to develop and deliver this competency, the HSN105 team were awarded a CAPHIA early career excellence and innovation in public health teaching prize.
