Contributing to the Frontiers Research Topic “Linguistic Representations in Large Language Models for High-Impact Discourse Structure, Pragmatics and Reliability,” focusing on advancing scholarly dialogue around interpretability, discourse structure, and reliability in large language models. Engaging with the coordination of submissions and peer review processes to support the development and dissemination of high-quality interdisciplinary research in natural language processing.

Have been actively engaged in national research assessment through the review and evaluation of Australian Research Council (ARC) applications, including Discovery Projects, Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRA), and Mid-Career Industry Fellowships.

Regularly serving as a reviewer for the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) Rolling Review (ARR) process since 2024, contributing to the peer evaluation of manuscripts in natural language processing and computational linguistics. The ACL is the premier international scientific and professional society for computational linguistics and natural language processing, and its conference and review ecosystem represents the highest level of scholarly dissemination in the field. This ongoing service supports the maintenance of rigorous standards and the advancement of high-quality research within the global NLP community.

Maintaining active membership of the Australasian Language Technology Association (ALTA), contributing to the regional natural language processing and computational linguistics community through engagement with workshops, conferences, and research dissemination activities. This membership supports ongoing involvement in the development and advancement of language technology research within Australia and New Zealand.

Awarded the SEBE Teacher of the Year Award in recognition of sustained excellence in teaching, student engagement, and contribution to educational innovation. The award acknowledges outstanding impact on student learning and commitment to delivering high-quality educational experiences across the Faculty.

Serving as General Chair of the Australasian Language Technology Association Workshop (ALTA 2026), the premier regional forum for natural language processing and language technologies, I lead a program committee of ten academics. Collaborating closely with the ALTA executive board, I oversee program development, keynote coordination, scholarly peer review processes, and research agenda setting.

Provided mentoring to four early-career academics across the School of Information Technology, the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, and the School of Business, contributing to academic capability building across multiple disciplines.
