RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr Dhar’s extensive experience with microbiological and immunological techniques, combined with emerging expertise in bioinformatics and statistics, has placed her in a unique position to contribute to population-based studies and RCTs, which forms the basis of her current research program dissecting the interplay of maternal lifestyle behaviours, infant transcriptome and microbiome in maternal and infant health. Dr Dhar's multi-disciplinary skill set has allowed her to collaborate with researchers in field of childhood allergy, malaria, microbiome and maternal mental health, leading to successful publications and grants. Dr Dhar is rapidly expanding her research program using a holistic approach and cutting-edge technology of single-cell RNA sequencing and spectral flow cytometry in combination with transcriptomic, cytokine and serological studies to identify immune drivers of allergic diseases in children. Utilizing a systems biology approach, she is on an exciting journey decoding the marvels of the human immune system, to develop novel opportunities for disease prediction and primary prevention.
