RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests are in understanding the complex influences on children's screen time and physical activity, particularly in the school and home settings. I seek to understand how these behaviours can impact childrens immediate and long-term health, development, and wellbeing. I collaborate with families and key stakeholders to co-create novel, evidence-based strategies to support health enhancing engagement in screen time and physical activity.
KNOWLEDGE AREAS
Dr Arundell's knowledge area is children's screen time and physical activity. Specifically, her research program and knowledge include the following:
* home- and school- based intervention strategy development, implementation and evaluation
* behaviour measurement and analysis including purpose designed survey development and objective tools
* qualitative methods amongst children and adults
* online participant recruitment and survey delivery
FUNDING
I have been awarded ~$1.4m in competitive fellowships, grants and consultation and ~ $2.5m as named researcher; including from ARC, NHMRC, WHO, Australian Sports Commission, VIC and WA governments.
