BIO
My research is driven by a commitment to improving the sustainability and resource efficiency of industrial processes. Drawing on a diverse and multidisciplinary research background, I have developed a blue-sky research program funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Eco-efficient Beneficiation of Minerals. My focus was on understanding particle behaviour and advancing circular economy approaches for ultra fine mineral recovery. This work builds on the foundation of my research identity, combining fundamental scientific understanding with practical solutions that reduce resource consumption, minimise waste, and improve process efficiency.
Building on this foundation, I have expanded my research portfolio into broader sustainability challenges. This includes the application of life cycle assessment (LCA) to emerging technologies, with my current research investigating the environmental impacts and sustainability performance of 3D printing processes. Looking ahead I will lead a project to apply LCA to energy systems. I aim to further strengthen my research in circular economy by returning to a key area of interest that originated during my doctoral studies: the valorisation of food waste into valuable products. While much of my recent work has focused on plastic waste and materials recovery, my long-term vision is to develop innovative pathways for converting organic waste streams into sustainable products, contributing to a more circular and resilient economy.
