RESEARCH INTERESTS
Pete Williams’ research interests are deeply rooted in the practical and strategic facets of business, with a particular emphasis on small business dynamics, marketing, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning. His work focuses on understanding the challenges and opportunities within the small business sector, exploring innovative marketing strategies that drive business growth, and developing entrepreneurial skills in new and established business leaders.
A significant area of Pete's research involves examining how strategic planning can be tailored to fit the unique needs of small to medium enterprises (SMEs), rather than relying on models that cater primarily to larger corporations.
Central to Pete Williams' research is the 7 Levers Framework, an actionable model he developed to enhance the profitability of businesses systematically. This framework posits that by making just a 10% improvement across seven critical areas of business—suspects, prospects, conversions, average item price, average items per sale, transactions and margins—companies can effectively double their profits. The simplicity and accessibility of the 7 Levers make it especially appealing to SMEs, offering them a clear, structured path to growth without the complexities often associated with traditional strategic planning. Pete's studies and applied research aim to validate this model further, exploring its adaptability and impact across various business contexts and industries.
