MrBen Crockett

Since joining academia in 2016, Ben's focus has been advertising creative practice and employability. He is a multi-award winning lecturer in communication, including the coveted Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education and Employability. Ben has an extensive background as a creative practitioner in the advertising industry, which has taken him around the globe developing campaigns for some of the world’s largest companies. As a result, his research focuses on advertising creativity and its role in 21st-century communication. The combination of academic research and industry experience enables him to bring a balanced theoretical and practice-based perspective to his teaching and research interests. 

Ben is also the custodian and visionary of Deakin Advertising’s annual graduate showcase and industry engagement event, Young Bullets. Designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, Young Bullets offers students a unique opportunity to showcase their portfolios and connect meaningfully with industry professionals and agencies, creating a positive, lasting impression on graduates and the advertising industry.
