BIO

Dr Kerry Simple (they/them) is an experienced teaching and research academic, interested in gender, inclusion and wellbeing in education, and alternative research methods and pedagogies.

As an Education, Teaching & Learning (ETL) academic, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) specialist, Kerry has dedicated their research and professional career to leading transformative initiatives that create lasting positive impacts for individuals, organisations, and communities.

With over a decade of experience in research (Education, DEI, Gender Studies, Sociology, LGBTIQA+, Health & Wellbeing) and designing, implementing, and evaluating strategy, curriculum, assessment, and learning programmes, they specialise in fostering inclusive cultures that promote innovation, collaboration, cultural safety, and sustainable growth.

Their approach to ETL and DEI is rooted in evidence-based and data-driven insights, practical solutions, stakeholder and community engagement, industry partnerships, a deep commitment to learning, unlearning and capability uplift, and an intersectional Cultural Safety framework that utilises the social-ecological model.

From researching professional identity formation at the intersections of gender and sexuality, exploring social and pedagogical potentialities of the alternative, and supporting student, teacher, and professional staff inclusion and wellbeing, their goal is to work with and empower individuals and organisations to not only embrace diversity but to thrive because of it.
