BIO
Chang-Tsun Li received a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the National Defense University, Taiwan, an MSc in Computer Science from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Warwick, UK. He is currently a Professor of Cyber Security at Deakin University. He has over 20 years of research experience in multimedia forensics and security, biometrics, machine learning, data analytics, computer vision, image processing, pattern recognition, bioinformatics, and content-based image retrieval.
The outcomes of his research have been translated into award-winning commercial products protected by a portfolio of international patents and have been deployed by law enforcement agencies, national security institutions, and companies worldwide, including INTERPOL, the UK Home Office, the Metropolitan Police Service (UK), Sussex Police Service (UK), Guildford Crown Court (UK), and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The research team of the CSCRC-funded Development of Australian Cyber Criteria Assessment (DACCA) project under his leadership was the recipient of the 2021 AISA Cyber Security Researcher of the Year Award.
In addition to his research contributions, Chang-Tsun Li actively serves the international scientific community. He has served as Chair of the Computational Forensics Technical Committee of the International Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR), as a member of the IEEE Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee, and as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Access, IET Biometrics, and the EURASIP Journal of Image and Video Processing. He is currently an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (T-IFS), IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior, and Identity Science (T-BIOM), and Frontiers in Imaging.
