RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests pertain to the neurobiology of eating disorders, ocular biomarkers in mental health conditions, and the intersection of visual processing and psychiatric disorders.

Eating disorders are incredibly serious yet complex mental health conditions, characterised by persistent disturbances in perception and behaviour. Perhaps most concerning, is the significant health burden associated with these disorders, with anorexia nervosa notably carrying the 2nd highest premature mortality rate among all mental health conditions. As an accessible extension of the central nervous system, our eyes are well placed to provide insight into neurological function. My research aims to explore the ocular manifestations of eating disorders and their potential utility in elucidating the neurobiological foundations of eating disorder pathogenesis.
