RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research program focusses on the psychological and social dimensions of women’s health, with a particular emphasis on endometriosis, body image, and sexual wellbeing. I examine how people experience and make meaning of their bodies and health within social, relational, and healthcare contexts, addressing areas that have been historically under‑recognised within psychological science. A central contribution of my work is extending body image research to account for the lived/living experience of chronic illness, highlighting the importance of body image for wellbeing, identity, and healthcare experiences.

A defining feature of my research is the integration of lived/living experience through co‑design and patient‑centred methods. By grounding research questions and outputs in the priorities of the communities they are intended to benefit, I contribute to the development of more relevant, accessible, and practically applicable knowledge. Over time, this work has developed into a coherent program that combines theoretical advancement with applied impact, generating insights and tools that improve communication and support, enhancing healthcare experiences and outcomes for individuals with complex health conditions.

I am a member of the MiRth (Mind-Body Research in Health) lab, contributing to collaborative interdisciplinary research on health and wellbeing.
