TEACHING EXPERTISE

My teaching focuses on helping students see how psychology connects to real life. I aim to create learning environments where students feel supported, understand what is expected, and build confidence as they develop new skills. I am particularly known for leading and designing large-scale first-year psychology teaching, supporting students to transition into university and build a strong foundation for their degree. I use clear structure, practical activities, and real‑world examples to support understanding and application, improving students' confidence and ability in applying psychological concepts. My teaching is designed to be inclusive and accessible, so that all students can engage with the content and succeed.

My expertise is in designing and leading large first‑year units, where I clear clear, well‑structured learning experiences for large cohorts. I develop authentic assessments that reflect real‑world skills and provide feedback that supports improvement over time. I work closely with teaching teams to ensure consistency and quality across delivery, supporting staff capability through shared resources and guidance. Through this work, I have improved student engagement and experience, strengthened consistency across teaching teams, and contributed to improvements in teaching practice across first-year psychology units.
