BIO
I am a researcher with expertise in advanced materials, protective technologies, and sustainable textile solutions. My research focuses on improving the performance, safety, and sustainability of materials through multidisciplinary approaches that combine materials science, engineering, and advanced characterisation.
My current work centres on motorcycle and sports protective equipment, investigating impact protection, abrasion resistance, durability, and the effects of ageing and laundering on protective performance. I work closely with industry and government partners to generate evidence that supports product innovation, consumer safety, and standards development. Increasingly, my research also explores sustainable textiles, circular economy approaches, and recycling strategies to extend product life and reduce environmental impact.
My broader research experience includes ceramic composite materials for dental applications, polymer nanocomposites, self-assembled nanostructured materials, membrane technologies for filtration and separation, and advanced materials characterisation using techniques such as synchrotron small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS).
I am passionate about translating research into real-world outcomes through collaboration with industry, government, and the broader community. My goal is to develop innovative, sustainable materials and protective technologies that improve safety, support advanced manufacturing, and contribute to a more circular and resilient future.
