DrHannah Bereznicki

Hannah is a Lecturer in the School of Psychology at Geelong's Deakin University. Her research interests include the neurocognitive underpinnings of trauma and shame, and she co-directs the Trauma and Shame stream in Deakin Psychology’s CONNECT Research and Training Initiative. Hannah and colleagues recently won a Healthy and Connected Communities grant from the City of Greater Geelong to initiate Intergenerational Trauma Aware Geelong; a community-wide and systems-based approach to trauma, neuro, and shame-awareness. Hannah also led the development and facilitation of a free* online course on Trauma, Neuro, and Shame Awareness: Best Practice for Professionals, Organisations, and Communities in collaboration with Prof Peter Miller. Hannah has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, is a certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator, and loves connecting with small or large groups for engaging and relatable trauma, neuro, and shame awareness presentations and workshops. Hannah is neurodivergent and ever-curious, and draws on her academic skills and ADHD strengths to generate, implement, and evaluate creative solutions to complex problems.
