BIO
Dr Alethea Jerebine is an Executive Dean of Health Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) and the School of Health and Social Development at Deakin University.
Her research explores how perceptions of risk shape children and young people’s opportunities for physical activity, physical literacy development, independent mobility, and outdoor play. Alethea works with children, families, schools, community organisations, and governments to better understand the benefits of manageable risk-taking in childhood, and to create greater opportunities for exploration and experiential learning through self-directed play and movement in public spaces, neighbourhoods, and community settings.
