RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests centre around the intersection between disability, dementia and other forms of disadvantage, including gender and sexuality diversity, people from a refugee background and those who live in rural and remote areas.
I'm interested in doing qualitative and consumer led research with people living with dementia. Currently, I am conducting a four year project on people living with dementia who also identify as LGBT+. The aim of that project is to reduce stigma and improve services.
I often use participatory and arts based methods, to ensure the ongoing inclusion of people with lived experience throughout.
In my research with people with disability and people living with dementia I have particular foci on transitions and the life course.
I am also interested in doing research with peer work and peer mentoring in disability and dementia.
