BIO

Aidan Roberts is a Lecturer in Medical Sciences (Education‑focused) in the School of Medicine at Deakin University, based at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus. Aidan’s expertise lies in pre‑clinical medical education, with a particular focus on anatomy (musculoskeletal and neuroanatomy), curriculum design, and assessment quality. He teaches across multiple units in Deakin’s Doctor of Medicine program and holds leadership roles including Unit Chair and block coordination, contributing to curriculum alignment and program‑level coherence. Aidan has a strong interest in evidence‑based teaching and learning, particularly the use of authentic assessment, clinical vignettes, and active learning strategies to support student understanding and progression from foundational science to clinical reasoning. His work emphasises clear alignment between learning outcomes, teaching activities, and assessment, and he is widely recognised for his commitment to assessment transparency and student wellbeing. His scholarly interests sit within the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), including the evaluation of hands‑on learning approaches, anatomical modelling, and assessment design in medical education.
