TEACHING EXPERTISE
Aidan designs and delivers learning experiences that are outcome‑aligned, evidence‑based, and student‑centred, with a strong emphasis on authentic assessment and transparency. He is particularly interested in how clear alignment between learning outcomes, teaching activities, and assessment can support student confidence, progression, and wellbeing in demanding medical curricula.
His teaching practice incorporates active and applied learning approaches, including clinical vignettes, anatomical modelling, and structured formative assessment, to help students develop deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation. Aidan is also actively involved in curriculum design, unit leadership, and assessment quality assurance, contributing to continuous improvement across the medical program.
Through his engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning, Aidan evaluates innovative teaching approaches and assessment designs, with the goal of improving learning outcomes for pre‑clinical medical students and supporting best practice in health professions education
