My teaching shapes how preservice teachers are prepared for the profession across all of Deakin's Initial Teacher Education programs. As Unit Chair, I have designed assessment and unit infrastructure that now serves over 1,300 students annually across the Master of Teaching, Bachelor of Education, and Bachelor of Health and Physical Education, and I have led the development of assessment materials adopted School-wide for the Deakin Teaching Performance Assessment.

I am currently Unit Chair of EPR786 and EPR787, the final professional experience units for all Deakin ITE students, where preservice teachers demonstrate their readiness for graduate registration. My focus is on assessment and unit design that connects placement experience with theory, supports reflective practice, and builds the relational conditions in which students develop judgement, confidence, and an emerging professional identity. These units replaced four course-specific capstones in 2026, consolidating assessment architecture I originally designed as Unit Chair of EPR785, the previous Master of Teaching capstone. I also teach and supervise practitioner research across the Master of Teaching, and welcome enquiries about supervision in teacher education, professional experience, and professional identity.
