RESEARCH INTERESTS

Daniel's focal research interest concerns the empirical analysis of topics relating to the production, financing and organisation of health and health care systems. His current research relates to the determinants of clinical decision-making under uncertainty and their impact on the effectiveness of health care provision. Daniel is currently a leading an ARC Discovery grant on physician preferences for medical innovations using rich Swedish and Australian data to explore the effects of technological diffusion, substitution and adoption of new medical technology on a range of patient outcomes. Other research interests include the impact of the division of parental leave on family outcomes and how environmental factors affects individuals' physical and mental health.
