TEACHING EXPERTISE

My teaching philosophy centres around supporting the development of ethical and inclusive coaching and sport science practitioners. Adopting a proactive approach to belonging, I seek to foster inclusive and collaborative learning environments where students can critically and creatively engage with new ideas, concepts, and theories ensuring that each student feels both challenged and supported in their learning. In so doing, I aim to give students the tools to critique and re-contextualise knowledge claims so that they may in turn become active and critical participants in the production and mobilisation of coaching and sport science knowledges.

I am currently the unit chair for 4 coaching units (HSE105 Principles of Sport Coaching, HSE114 Inclusive Coaching Practice, HSE205 Advanced Coaching Theory and Practice, HSE321 Sport Coaching and Development Practicum) and the Deputy Director of the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (SENS) Honours Program.
