RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research centres around ethical and inclusive coaching practice. I draw on feminist and poststructuralist theories and methodologies to research ethical athlete and coach development and to promote more equitable and inclusive sport and physical cultures. My research pays particular attention to power relations and to which knowledges, perspectives, and voices are de/centred or marginalised in sports coaching, leisure, and physical activity contexts. I am also interested in creative and arts-based methodologies and how these can be mobilised to critically examine the affective and emotional dimensions of sports work.
I am currently supervising several MASS and PhD students, and welcome inquiries from prospective students motivated in advancing their knowledge and understanding of ethical and inclusive sports coaching and coach and athlete development, particularly through a sociocultural, sociopedagogical, or biocultural lens.
