RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research focuses on multidisciplinary methods in architecture and urbanism aiming at sustainability.
Topics:
Computational and Parametric Design and Digital Fabrication
How can computational and parametric methods expand the ways architects generate, test, and materialise complex designs? What new forms of design agency emerge when digital fabrication and material intelligence are integrated into early‑stage design thinking? This topic explores how rule‑based modelling, performance‑driven workflows, and fabrication‑aware design can reshape architectural production, from conceptual exploration to full‑scale prototyping. Future projects will focus on a critical development of housing modularity and pre-fabrication.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Design and Built Environment
How might AI and machine learning transform architectural ideation, analysis, and decision‑making? What forms of creativity, authorship, and collaboration become possible when designers work alongside predictive, generative, or multimodal AI systems? This topic investigates how AI‑aided design processes, ethical and methodological implications, or new computational frameworks that support more adaptive, data‑rich, and intelligent built‑environment outcomes. Current projects are developing persectives on AI in architectural practice, AI in design teaching and AI and circularity.

Design Concepts, Scenarios, Experimentation, Gamification
How do designers develop ideas, navigate uncertainty, and experiment with alternative futures? In what ways can gamification, speculative design, scenarios and structured experimentation support deeper engagement, creativity, and collaborative problem‑solving in architectural contexts? This topic explores design thinking as a dynamic, iterative, and playful process. Future research will focus on developing innovative engagement and participatory tools and scenario generation in Australia.

Sustainability, SDGs in architecture and built environment
How can the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals be operationalised through architectural design, material systems, and urban strategies? What actions are needed before and after 2030 when the SDGs "expire"? What forms of spatial, social, and environmental transformation become possible when sustainability is used as a design‑led framework? This topic explores circularity and community‑centred methodologies that position architecture as an active agent in achieving SDG‑aligned futures.
