BIO
Savini Tennakoon is a PhD candidate at Deakin University and a teacher whose work explores inclusive education and teacher self-efficacy in the context of Sri Lanka. She has worked in Sri Lanka as a teacher and as an academic head, and also in Australia as a secondary school English teacher. Savini holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Arts, a Master of Education (Inclusive Education and Teacher Professional Development) from Deakin University. Savini's work as a teacher and as a researcher is driven by a commitment to educational equity and to creating learning environments that recognise diversity as a strength. She is particularly interested in translating research into practice to support more inclusive, culturally responsive and socially just educational systems.
