BIO

I have worked in research and writing for over 20 years, held tenured academic positions, and held research appointments in Australia and the US including the University of California at Berkeley. I was Deputy Director of the Global Terrorism Research Centre and a Research Associate at the Australian Homeland Security Research Centre. I am a specialist writer with a diverse track record including government reports, books, academic articles, trade publications, newspaper articles in The Australian and Herald Sun, and have conducted major research projects in the national security sector. My book, Witnesses to Terror (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012), is a widely cited account of the social and cultural impacts of the threat of terrorism.
I am currently Lead at the Youth Research Unit (YouRu) working on projects related to climate change, young people, and health and well-being.
