DrJane Hubbard

Jane is a lecturer in primary and early childhood mathematics in the School of Education at Deakin University. Her PhD research investigated the experiences of primary students as they engaged in mathematical problem-solving through sequences of challenging tasks.

Jane has published research reporting on pedagogies that readily support the development of students’ problem-solving skills; holistic assessment practices and how these can be best supported through teacher professional learning initiatives. Keen to bridge the gap between research and practice, Jane readily supports teachers in developing their capacity to teach mathematics by facilitating professional learning workshops; presenting at conferences and writing for academic and practitioner journals.
