RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr Chathuranga Kiramage’s research interests focus on molecular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions, with particular emphasis on ubiquitin-mediated regulation of immune signalling pathways. His work investigates how viruses and parasites manipulate host E3 ubiquitin ligases to evade immune responses and promote infection. His current research explores malaria parasite biology, specifically how parasite proteins interact with and exploit host red blood cell machinery. He is also interested in antiviral immunity, innate immune signalling (including type I interferon and NF-κB pathways), and the development of host-targeted therapeutic strategies for infectious diseases.
