DrRuben Fernandez-Rodriguez

Dr Rubén Fernández-Rodríguez is an early-career interdisciplinary researcher working across Nutritional Psychiatry, chrononutrition, lifestyle psychiatry, cardiometabolic health, sustainable food systems, planetary health and advanced evidence synthesis. He completed a PhD in Health, Social Research and Physical Activity at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in 2023, awarded Cum Laude, International Mentorship and Best Thesis Award in Health Sciences, following the Extraordinary Master Award and Extraordinary Degree Award. Fernández-Rodríguez’s postdoctoral year 2025 Field-Weighted Citation Impact was 4.73, meaning his work was cited 373% above the world average. He contributes to national and international leadership through the Scientific Committee of the Australian Lifestyle Psychiatry Symposium, the Organising/Scientific Committee of the International Society for Nutritional Psychiatry Research, and the Grounded Minds Consortium (a Flinders and Deakin collaboration connecting the Soil-Gut-Brain axis). He has supervised 18 honours-equivalent students and 3 master’s students, co-supervises a PhD candidate in Spain who has obtained a competitive regional grant in 2026, and co-supervise a PhD candidate at Deakin.
