BIO
Dr Vaishnavi Krishnamurthi is currently a Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Her research sits at the intersection of materials science and electronics, with a focus on two-dimensional materials and their applications in sensors and electronic devices. A significant part of her research involves the use of liquid metals and interfaces for developing functional materials and devices.
Her interest in understanding materials from a fundamental perspective, using advanced characterisation techniques, led her to secure the AINSE Early Career Researcher Grant, which involves using ANSTO’s neutron scattering facilities. She has also secured the CASS Science Grant to develop energy-dense, fast-charging batteries using liquid metals. In parallel, she is exploring opportunities at the interface of materials science, artificial intelligence, and quantum-inspired approaches to understand and develop functional materials for advanced technological applications.
Her research collaborations involve working with beamline scientists at ANSTO on neutron scattering techniques, including SANS and USANS, as well as collaborating with chemists, materials scientists, electronics engineers, and interdisciplinary researchers in emerging computational technologies.
