RESEARCH INTERESTS
Professor McNaughton's current research interests include the assessment of dietary behaviours, diet quality and dietary patterns, their determinants and role in health. Her research program focuses on:
* Understanding the role of foods, eating patterns and dietary patterns in health and wellbeing;
* Understanding the determinants of dietary behaviors and the role of food and nutrition literacy;
* Translation of dietary patterns research into nutrition interventions, strategies and policy.
She leads studies funded by the Australian Research Council, including the MEALS study and the Everyday Life Study.
She led a collaboration with the US National Cancer Institute and four other Australian research groups to develop an Australian version of the "ASA24", online self-administered 24-hour recall. For more information: https://www.deakin.edu.au/ipan/our-research/asa24-australia-2016
