DrMichelle Jackson

Dr Michelle Jackson is a senior researcher in Deakin University’s School of Medicine, specialising in the delivery of complex, large-scale epidemiological and intervention studies focusing on health and health behaviours in real-world settings.

Dr Jackson has extensive experience managing major research programs and Category 1 grants, including NHMRC-funded partnership trials. She facilitates projects from design through to implementation and evaluation, ensuring research is both methodologically rigorous and directly applicable to policy and practice.

Her expertise spans both qualitative and quantitative methods, with experience working across diverse settings, including regional and metropolitan communities. Her recent work is underpinned by systems thinking, community-based systems dynamics and implementation science. She supports schools and communities to understand and respond to the complex drivers of health and wellbeing, working closely with educators, community stakeholders, researchers and partner organisations to co-design and sustain locally relevant strategies.

Through this work, Dr Jackson has strengthened long-term partnerships and generated practical, actionable insights that have informed evidence-based interventions nationally and internationally.
