TEACHING EXPERTISE
Teaching
Anne is a leader of undergraduate T&L in Human Physiology and in Research Methods. She has a particular interest in the sustainability of T&L practices for both students and teaching teams.
Anne's T&L philosophy focusses on creating student-centred learning environments that foster engagement and critical-thinking, prioritising authentic learning and assessment and providing timely, constructive feedback that supports continuous student growth. Anne leads teaching teams of ~30 staff teaching 1,200+ students annually and is driven by a commitment to student success and positive student experience. Anne fosters professional growth in best practice T&L practices in her team members, empowering them to become successful independent academics.
As a reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement, Anne engages nationally with the Physiology Educators Group of the Australian Physiological Society and at University level as a member of the Deakin T&L Academy, ensuring the curriculum in her units reflect contemporary standards to enhance learning and the student experience.
Supervision
Anne is available to supervise PhD, Masters, Honours, Graduate Certificate and undergraduate research and Work Integrated Learning placement students. Her supervision philosophy is grounded in a commitment to develop successful, independent researchers who are ready to succeed in alignment with their individual career goals. She has supervised five PhD candidates and 19 Honours / Masters / Grad Cert students to completion, with three doctoral candidates currently enrolled.
