RESEARCH INTERESTS
Understanding property - processing - application relationships is at the core of my research. Topics I work on include the development of functional carbon materials from waste for electrodes in next generation energy storage materials. Key research thems within that topic include development of carbon anode active materials from waste biomass sources, improving anode properties, development of safe electrolytes, understanding the electrode/electrolyte interphase.
Another area of interest is development of hydrogen ready materials for transportation, understanding material compatibility and failure modes under a range of different low carbon fuels. I work with the Future Fuels CRC to understand the suitability of the current infastructure for transporting low carbon fuels.
