TEACHING EXPERTISE

As a passionate educator and scholar in teacher education and higher education learning and teaching, Amanda’s expertise spans curriculum, assessment, feedback and learning design to support student achievement.  With a strong practice orientation to her scholarly work, Amanda is also heavily invested in work integrated learning, employability and mentorship in these applied contexts to support graduate capabilities now and into the future.  Key here is facilitating pathways and transitions for those coming into the University context – Amanda has recently led the development of the Deakin Uni-Ready (Fee Free) Program that aligns with a keen focus on access and equity in Higher Education.

In her role as the Associate Head of School (Teaching and Learning) in Deakin's School of Education, Amanda led curriculum design/governance/
innovation, external accreditation (with multiple regulators), teaching quality and student experience and outcomes in Education.  Amanda has led curriculum development and taught into the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education and Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
