RESEARCH INTERESTS
Kerryn's research and scholarly activity focus on optometry education, clinical policy, professional standards and evidence translation. Her expertise includes quality use of medicines, professionalism and ethics, competency standards, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Across these areas, her work connects research, policy and education to improve professional capability and patient care.
Kerryn has had national impact on both optometry practice and education. Kerryn was corresponding author of the entry-level competency standards for optometrists, now used nationally to guide curriculum design and accreditation. She has also led and contributed to clinical practice guidelines, prescribing resources and evidence-informed professional guidance used across the profession. These contributions have influenced curriculum development and clinical standards, and have led to invitations to contribute to national committees and international collaborations.
Kerryn's body of work demonstrates a program of scholarship integrating education, clinical practice and health policy. Through publications, editorial leadership, professional engagement and cross-sector collaboration, she has established a trajectory of growing national leadership and international recognition as a clinician-academic advancing both healthcare standards and optometric education.
