BIO
How do we prepare engineers for problems that do not yet exist, using technologies that have not yet been invented, while ensuring they can make ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible decisions?
Answering this question requires more than curriculum change. It requires developing the people, partnerships, and educational systems that shape the next generation of engineers. This challenge sits at the heart of my work as an engineering educator, academic leader, and professional engineer.
I am an engineering educator and academic leader committed to advancing engineering education through educational leadership, curriculum transformation, and professional practice. My work focuses on improving educational quality, graduate capability, and the student experience by bringing together evidence-informed practice, academic leadership, and collaboration across universities, industry, government, and the engineering profession.
Throughout my career, I have led major curriculum renewal, accreditation, and educational transformation initiatives that have strengthened engineering programs, enhanced graduate employability, and established sustainable approaches to quality assurance and continuous improvement. I work closely with academic leaders and educators to develop shared educational vision, build leadership capability, and foster cultures of collaboration, innovation, and scholarly practice.
I am recognised nationally for my expertise in engineering program accreditation, curriculum design, competency-based education, and educational quality. I regularly contribute to Engineers Australia accreditation reviews, higher education quality reviews, national curriculum initiatives, and professional development programs that support universities in responding to evolving professional standards and the future needs of the engineering workforce.
I enjoy mentoring academic staff, educational leaders, and higher degree researchers, creating opportunities for collaboration, critical reflection, and professional growth. By building communities of practice and supporting evidence-informed decision-making, I seek to empower others to become leaders in teaching, curriculum, and educational scholarship.
My leadership is informed by an active program of engineering and higher education scholarship that explores curriculum, assessment, graduate capability, professional practice, and educational leadership. I am passionate about strengthening the connection between engineering education and professional practice to prepare graduates who are technically capable, socially responsible, and equipped to address the complex challenges facing our communities and our planet
