TEACHING EXPERTISE
COURSE TEACHING (2024-2026)
I am involved in teaching the Masters course “Biomaterials and Bio-nano Interface” at the School of Life and Environmental Science of Deakin University. The contents of my teaching in this course are fundamental knowledges of tissue engineering, the key challenges in this area, overview of tissue engineering materials and the most recent advances, with focus on biomaterials fabricated with silk fibroin, the main protein that constitute silk fibers.
MARKING
SLE765 Masters theses and seminar marking, which included marking and detailed reports on theses, and marking of oral presentations.
SUMMARY OF SUPERVISION/TEACHING (2016-2026)
As principal supervisor: Eight PhD completions, 1 thesis submission in July 2026, 6 current PhD students.
As associate/co supervisor: Seven PhD completions (with 2 as principal supervisor practically, though not officially).
Most of my students submitted their theses within 3.5 years. Their research outcomes have been published in high impact journals. My students have been well sought after. They have been associate professor in China, researchers at Adelaide University, University of Sydney, UNSW, University of Melbourne, and in the Europe (Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland), TU Delft (Netherland)).
Supervision across Faculty SEBE: I have supervised two Masters’ projects from LES and SoE, and two final year undergraduate students from SoE (and two current supervision).
I supervised Six ECRs supported by Alfred Deakin Fellowship, my future fellow project, DP project and the DVCR. I served as mentor of ECRs for the Deakin's 2023 DECAF (Deakin Early Career Academic Futures) Research Peer Mentoring Program.
