BIO

Chris Hickey is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Career Pathways)

having previoulsly servied as Chair of the Academic Board for eight years.

In his current role Chris is overseeing a major insitutuional initiative to honour

the diverse ways that academics contribute to the Deakin mission. He holds

a substative position as Professor in Health and Physical Education at Deakin,

where his research focuses on the interacting themes of education, identity

and equity.

 

He is the  inaugural and current Chair of the Cricket Australian/Australian Cricketers

Association Player Development Advisory Committee with governance oversight

of player welfare and professional development.

 

He is also founder and curator of the David Parkin Oration for Sport and Social Change,

within which Deakin celebrates the influence of leading sporting identities.
